The Chown name has been synonymous with the electrical trade in Brandon, Manitoba since 1978 when Ron Chown started R. Chown Electric. Ron ran his successful company till 2013 when he sold it to Drew McPhee & Jeff McPhail. They changed the name to Chown Elecric Ltd. In 2015,  Drew & Jeff along with Kevin Podjan created Chown Data & Fire, this company's focus is on the data cabling and fire alarm side of the electrical business.
